Power Consumption
1. Using Table 3, calculate the total amount of power required by each device, module, and accessory in the system. Please
take into account devices connected to the control panel’s PGM outputs. Since the
BELL output has its own power supply,
do not include the sirens connected to it in the calculation.

If the Grand Total is less than 700mA, go to step 3. If the value is greater, you will require an external power supply (see
External Power Supply on page 45
) to provide the additional power needed. Proceed with step 3.
3. Due to the degradation of a power signal over long distances, EACH length or run of wire in the system can support only
a specific amount of power. Using Table 4, determine how much power each length of wire can support. Please note that
the total amount of power can never surpass 700mA
.
